Ese programa, lo unico que hace es eliminar definitivamente los archivos,
para que no sea posible recuperarlos (habría que ver la efectividad de
esto..) no obstante, el procedimiento no tiene ningun efecto sobre el
rendimiento de windows, todo lo contrario que la defragmentación regular de
ficheros...

Ese programa lo que hace es eliminar, en teoría, datos de archivos de
forma definitiva, lo que significa que serían, también en teoría,
irrecuperables mediante herramientas especiales de recuperación de
archivos (lo cual podría ser bueno para eliminar datos confidenciales
del disco). Pero no tiene sentido utilizarlo como limpieza de "espacio",
para aumentar el espacio disponible en el disco, ya que el sistema de
archivos ya se preocupa de volver a ocupar ese espacio que ocupaba otro
archivo. En otras palabras, si eliminas un archivo, el sistema
sobreescribe en ese espacio.
