para q sirve el registro de windows

hola ojala me puedan ayudar. cuando inserte un cd q tenia proteccion el
antispyware de microsoft mostro la alarma q añado al final, y ahora al
encender la pc se abren las gabetas para leer los discos. y apartir de ese
momento tengo problemas al tratar q grabar dvd. mi pregunta es para q sirve
el registro de windows? lo puedo borrar? por casualidad tengo un soft q sirve
para hacer un respaldo del registro de win y otro soft para eliminar el
registro de win(erunt y ccleaner mas no los he utilizado)

Primera cuestión:

El CCleaner mejor no lo uses, ya que XP no necesita que se le limpie el
registro. Erunt, si mal no recuerdo sirve para hacer copia de seguridad del
registro, y en cuanto esto, sí puede usarse.

Segunda cuestión:

¿Tienes el equipo limpio de virus y espías? Pásale el Panda Online (olvida
lo que te diga el antivirus son los espías que tengas) y también el Ad-ware
SE.

El registro es el alma de la computadora... si no saves como manejarlo, no lo
toques ni utilices software de terceros con el proposito de limpiarlo porque
mas problema que bien te van hacer El cd que instalaste en tu computadora
trato de crear en el registro unos folders"Key" con valores "Value" o sea
modificarlo... el antispyware de microsoft detecto esos cambios y te dio un
warning de accion, para que tu seleccionaras...acceptar los cambios ...o no
acceptarlos...
corre tus programas de proteccion y si no hay nada, has una restoracion a
unos dias antes de que los problemas comenzaran
