If you run the Out-of-Box Experience (OOBE) and then restart your Microsoft Windows XP Service
Pack 2 (SP2)-based computer, infrared communications may no longer work. You cannot use the
infrared port to transfer data. If you delete the infrared device and then restart the
computer, infrared communications work. However, if you restart the computer again, infrared
communications no longer work.
