¿keylogger?

He pasado el escaneo online de Pest Patrol y me dice que tengo un
Keylogger.
Me salian dos direcciones de esas del registro, las he eliminado, pero
mi
pregunta es: ¿eliminando esto se elimina el keylogger?.
Tambien, desde hace unos dias he tenido varios problemas del tipo "el
shell
de windows se ha detenido inesperadamente"... ¿tiene relacion una cosa
con la
otra?.

Hola José: Ni Ad-aware, ni Microsoft AntiSpyware, ni Spybot ni el
anivirus
Kaspersky, todos ellos actualizados, me han dicho que tenga ninguna
cosa
extraña. Supongo que al eliminar del registro las dos entradas se
habrá
eliminado el keylogger este.

Una pregunta.
Hace algunos meses en un CD que un amigo [ya no estoy muy seguro de
esto último]me prestó venía un programa que se llamaba Keylogger, y es
hasta hoy que vuelvo a ver el término.

Qué es un keylogger? Entiendo que es un programa para 'capturar'
passwords enmascarados o algo así pero, ¿cómo funciona? Es decir ¿cómo
alguien podría instalarlo en mi PC sin que me entere? ¿Se traslada
como un virus?
