JAVA Problem

Hi everyone.

I'm sure this question has been asked in here many times before but I cant
find it anywhere so I apologise in advance for asking.

I'm having some trouble with a new version of Windows XP Home Edition. The
problem seems to be related to JAVA. When I go to a site which loads a JAVA
applet and the applet has a multi pain window, such as a main screen and a
menu or list of users on the right hand side, only the main window loads and
the right hand pain is not visible, this prevents me form using the sites
applet.

I know there where some problems between Microsoft and Sun Microsystems when
XP was being developed but I've downloaded service packs 1 and 2 which are
meant to fix the JAVA problem (and is has to a certain extent) but this
problem persists.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to rectify this?

Many thanks

Windows doesn't come with Java anymore. Sun won the case.

You want Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition, Version 1.5.0

Yes,

First of all, dont do cross posting,
Seccond in your cross posting you are including Spanish groups while you
have very high profiled MVP´s already in the English groups, so you dont
need to post in every languaje existent.

And Third try the Java Virtual machine from Sun.

Thanks for the advise it was much appreciated. I downloaded Java 2
Platform, Standard Edition, Version 1.5.0 and rebooted my PC but the problem
still persists. There is one difference and that is the right hand pain of
the window briefly flashes on the screen for less than a second and the
vanishes, leaving me with just the left hand pain. Anyone have any ideas on
how to get around this?

Many thanks
