Como importar usuarios del Active Directory?

Hola:
Estoy tratando de importar los perfiles de usuarios del AD en SPS 2003
O sea, Site Settings->Manage Profile Database
Especifico un usuario con derecho a acceso al AD, ademas administrador
del SPS y me da error:
Failed to retrieve the current domain name from the Active Directory
directory services.

An error has occurred while accessing SQL database or system
resources. If this is the first time you have seen this message,
please try again later. If this problem persists, please contact your
administrator.

No change has been committed to database.
