Extending networking capabilities for virtual machines
You can install and configure Microsoft Loopback Adapter to extend
networking capabilities for virtual machines. You can use Microsoft Loopback
Adapter to provide the following networking capabilities:

a.. Provide networking for virtual machines when the host operating system
does not have a physical network connection available. To provide network
connectivity between the host and virtual machines, install Microsoft
Loopback Adapter on the host operating system and then configure a network
connection on each virtual machine and the host operating system.
b.. Set up a complex virtual network environment with multiple routers and
firewalls. To provide multiple network solutions for virtual machines,
install Microsoft Loopback Adapter on the host operating system and then set
up as many network connections on each operating system as required.

Important

a.. If you want to access the Internet from a virtual machine configured
to use the Microsoft Loopback Adapater, Internet Connection Sharing must be
enabled on the host computer. For more information about Internet Connection
Sharing, consult the documentation included with the version of Windows
installed on the host computer.
Setting up a virtual network connection requires first installing Microsoft
Loopback Adapter and then configuring the network connection for the
adapter. Configuration for Microsoft Loopback Adapter includes configuring
TCP/IP on the network connection to use an appropriate IP address.

You can use any TCP/IP address, but it is best to choose one from a reserved
range of private TCP/IP addresses. For example, TCP/IP addresses of the form
192.168.x.y, where x is a value between 0 and 255 and y is a value between 1
and 254, are private. The value you choose for x must be the same on the
host operating system and each guest operating system that is to be part of
this virtual network. If your primary Ethernet connection uses one of these
private addresses, you must choose a different value for x to assign to
Microsoft Loopback Adapter.

operating system running Windows XP or Windows 2000, see Install and
configure Microsoft Loopback Adapter. For information about installing
Microsoft Loopback Adapter on other operating systems, see the documentation
for the operating system.

Hola a todos, disculpen por el OT.

¿Hay alguien que haya usado Virtual PC 2004? Acabo de instalarlo en mi PC e
instalé Windows 95 como sistema invitado. El problema es que no se cómo
conectarlo a Internet, actualmente en el SO Host (Windows XP) hay una
conexión dial-up compartida y que funciona con otros equipos de mi red, pero
no se cómo configurar el SO invitado para que utilice esa conexión, según la
ayuda dice que le establezca como adaptador 1 a Red compartida (NAT) pero
sin resultado.
