Problem opening links

I have Win95, IE55 and in some web pages, when I try to open a link

that web page, a transparent window called Microsoft Internet Explorer
appears and nothing happens. I have to close that window so that I can
continue working.
In the same link, I right click with the mouse, point to roperties, copy

URL, copy the URL to the GO TO window and it opens it correctly.
I've uninstalled and installed IE55 but the problem persists. Also there
are
no viruses.
