Error al conectarse al SQL

Ayuda Hacer una pregunta
Tengo el siguiente error:

An error has ocurred while establishing a connection to the server.
When connecting to SQL 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact
that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections.
(Provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Erroro Locating
Server/Instance Specified)

Y no he podido conectar a una base de datos que está en mi servidor, alguien
me podría decir qué debo hacer para que se solucione este error, soy nuevo en
SQL y tengo el servidor a mi lado para hacer las modificaciones necesarias
para que funcione.

El SQL es 2005 Express Edition, tengo además el Visual Web Developer Edition
2005 Express, tambíen. El servidor es 2003 Enterprise con todos los updates
al día.

Hola, ve a:

Inicio - Programas - Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - Configuration Tool - Sql
server Sourface Area Configuration

Cuando entras ve a primer opcion, busca en el listado la instancia y
habilita la conexiones remotas (por default esta todo apagado :-)
